In a world embroiled with political unrest, Kyrgyzstan seemed a strange selection for the world's premier adventure race. But after a week racing through the spectacular highlands of one of the world's remotest countries, all in attendance agreed that the 12th Raid Gauloises proved a huge victory for adventure racing. |

Arrow 24 Hour Sydney

After six days of continuous rain many of the Sydney based teams were
nervous as to whether the second event in the Arrow 24 Hour Adventure Race Series would go ahead. Other well established events such as the Oxfam 100km walk were postponed due to the rising waters and flooding. A few of the 24 Hour teams went so far as to e-mail the race director to ask if the event was to be postponed. The reply was "Don't be soft, it's wet but not that wet". |

Ironman Lanzarote

Toughest, hardest, steepest, longestÂ… we triathletes certainly love our superlatives. But when it comes to Ironman, are these adjectives really necessary? When did you last hear of an 'easy' Ironman? Swimming, cycling and running from early morning into the wee hours counts as 'tough' in anyone's book. That said, there are degrees of tough, and one event stands at the outer edges of the control group - the Ironman Lanzarote Campeonato Triathlon. |
